Accidental damage to your vehicle
If your vehicle's damaged in an accident or through vandalism, we'll arrange to have it fixed and guarantee the work
(excluding parts - see terms and conditions) for as long as you continuously insure your vehicle with us.
If we can't fix it, we'll either pay to replace it or pay you cash up to its market value.
Glass repair or replacement
If you have a damaged window or windscreen, we’ll repair it (£25 excess) or replace it (£125 excess) and if you use one of our approved repairers the most we will pay will be the market value of your vehicle at the time of the loss. If you use one of your own repairers the claim will be limited to £50.
If you have damaged glass that forms part of your vehicle’s roof (including sunroofs and panoramic roofs), your vehicle excess will be payable.
24-hour emergency support
If you have an accident, we'll send someone out to either fix your vehicle or take it to one of our approved garages.
Personal Accident Cover
This cover is included as standard and provides £2,500 for you, and your partner and named drivers for serious injury or death following a motor accident.
New vehicle replacement
We will replace your vehicle with a new one of the same make model and specification if your vehicle is damaged beyond economical repair or stolen and not recovered and you bought your vehicle from new within the past 12 months.
Vehicle Recovery and approved repair
If you've been in an accident and your vehicle cannot be driven, we'll recover your vehicle and take it to one of our approved repairers. We'll also take you and your passengers home or cover up to £150 for accommodation or public transport.
Child seats
If you have child seat(s) fitted in your vehicle at the time it's involved in an accident or damaged following fire or theft, we'll pay for the cost of replacement even if there is no apparent damage.
Replacement locks
If your ignition keys are lost or stolen we'll pay the cost of replacing the affected locks, lock transmitter and central locking interface and affected parts of the alarm and/or immobiliser.
European cover
We provide a comprehensive cover when you travel abroad to any of the following European countries if your trip's less than 90 days:
Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France (including Monaco), Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy (including San Marino and the Vatican City), Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland (including Liechtenstein).
Third-party damage or injury
We'll cover you for:
Your legal liability for death or injury to a third party
Your legal liability for third party property up to £20,000,000
Any legal defence representation costs incurred with our consent in connection with a claim against your policy up to a limit of £5,000,000.
Loss, theft, fire and flood damage
If your vehicle's lost or stolen, or we're unable to fix it for you following fire or flood damage, we'll pay you a cash amount equal to the loss or damage. The most we will pay is the market value of your vehicle.
Electric vehicle out of charge recovery
If you ever run out of charge over a quarter of a mile from your home, with the RAC's award-winning EV Boost mobile charging system, stranded out-of-charge vehicles can get moving again with a roadside power boost or be towed to a nearby working charging station.
(By electric vehicle we mean a motor vehicle that is propelled by electrical power derived only from an electrical rechargeable battery which is charged externally)
